Victoria Pedretti's big break in "The Haunting of Hill House" was her first professional role. However, based on her performance, it seemed like she had been acting on screen for a long time. It comes as no surprise that she is naturally talented in her craft, given she had creative parents.

Victoria Pedretti was born to Michael Pedretti and Nancy Hill. Her parents enjoyed dance and theater and were delighted to see their daughter enjoy the same craft.

Victoria Pedretti's Parents Have Jewish Roots

Victoria's parents raised her in Pennsylvania and taught her that the system was not established to support the people. They told her that "there are a lot of reasons to be skeptical of people and their intentions." Because of this, she couldn't comprehend why she should follow her teachers in school.

They taught their daughter to be proud of her Jewish ancestry. Although her mom did not fully understand their Jewish identity at a young age, she took it upon herself to learn more about the religion and culture in her adult years.

By then, Victoria was in elementary school and learning more about her religion. Growing up, the actress was profoundly interested in counter-culture, social justice, and similar issues, which stemmed from conversations with her parents.

"I was always aware of their own trauma [...]. They talked a lot about their experiences growing up and how hard they were. So, I was very focused on their story [...]. I really do appreciate [that] they were consistently doing their best."

When she got to college and saw a psychologist, Victoria realized she was in an emotionally abusive household. It was a disappointing learning that made her feel immense sadness. Fortunately, she connected with people who made her feel loved as time passed.

Victoria Pedretti's Parents were Artists

The actress's parents were artists and academics. Nancy was a dancer with a master's degree in dance performance and pedagogy from Temple University. She later taught dance at the institution and opened her own studio in Philadelphia. She also led a company of dancers and other cultural programs.

Meanwhile, Michael was a college professor in theater, teaching directing and acting. Throughout his career, he directed more than 60 stage productions. He later became the Movement Theatre International's founder and artistic director. Because of their love for the arts, they saw value in their daughter's choice to become a performer.

The "You" star has been making waves on television recently, and her parents couldn't be more proud. They have always supported their daughter's decision to become an actress and are "not shy with criticism." Admittedly, Michael and Nancy played a significant role in Victoria's exposure to theater and performance.

The actress said, "My appreciation for the arts was definitely fostered by my parents." Besides her Netflix roles, Victoria landed a part in Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, and Margaret Qualley.
